“In our view, we can no longer thrive on living together,” he said.
“After much thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple said in a statement on social media platform Twitter.
The two first met in the late 1980’s when Melinda started working for Bill Gates’ company, Microsoft. They now have three children.
The two also co-manage the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
